Join organizations of commerce and foreign trade associations to develop more contacts and extend your territory. Talk to everybody you contact about importing and exporting, learning from their mistakes and successes. Advertise in the print media for distributors and for goods.
Manufacturers don’t know how to make the contacts for foreign distribution. Show them your credentials and pick them up on exclusive contracts. With a little experience, you can market almost anything anywhere.

You should consider looking for Indian-made treadmills. China makes a lot of money from people like you and they really don't need it. You ultimately do not save money when you buy from China. The government is forced to spend more on defense and less on development to counter Chinese military aggression that is indirectly funded by Indian consumers. And Indian manufacturers are forced to layoff workers. China continues to humiliate us and tell their people that they sell these things to us because we are inferior and cannot make them on our own. The only reason why they are so cheap is because they steal the technology so they do not have to recover R&D costs. You also do not know what you are getting from the Chinese. For example they have made fake medicines that say "Made in India" and exported them abroad to make money, ruin our brand names, and hurt poor Africans who rely on lifesaving drugs made by our great firms like Ranbaxy. They also gave nukes to Pakistan and gave equipment and diplomatic protection to the Mumbai terrorists. You should read some of the "People's Daily" articles about India. They are hateful and the netizen comments are even worse. Please reconsider and think about your country. Chinese people hate India and laugh at us. They have also destroyed the temples of the Tibetans and forced Muslim Uighur children to eat pork at school during Ramadan to de-Islamize them and make them more Chinese. And because they buy oil and give nukes to Pakistan, most Muslim countries are silent about the oppression.
On the other hand there are countries who have been good to India and to minorities. If you buy products that are made in the EU, Taiwan, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, or the USA you will ultimately help India and its allies. I am an Indian-American and I assure you that America treats us very well, unlike Australia, and US politicians and the US public overwhelmingly favor backing India in a war against China. Customers will also appreciate the better quality of non-Chinese goods, especially those from the USA, EU, Japan, and Korea. Consider buying or wholesaling Indian-made treadmills. Indians take pride in their craft and many reputable international companies are manufacturing in India. Or if you specifically prefer the import business you could consider any of the other countries. Treadmills made in Vietnam will be competitive in price and have good quality. Taiwan also makes many treadmills and it is a democratic country that has excellent relations with India and it would still be a bargain. Please consider your country. We Indians will have to stop taking shortcuts if we want to see a developed India that can be a democratic world superpower. Please think about what you are doing here, do it for India. Thank you and Jai Hind!

I wouldn't worry about finding stock. There are plenty of used computers looking for a home. You should worry about finding buyers first.
Point of sale is when you sign for the purchase and debit is when you enter your PIN number at the register. Debit is automatically taken out of your account (just like when you go to the ATM). Point of sale is not automatically taken from your account and has to clear with the bank first.

Unless you are bringing back sensitive goods you wont need a license, ie; arms, nuclear equipment, certain tech goods prohibited from export by the Chinese government–which are not very many.
It sounds like you are going to China for 10k worth of junk shopping. Which you will need to ship back, you'll need a freight forwarder or shipper, and invoices for the goods to present to US Customs, Bill of Lading, and you might have to pay tariffs on the goods depending on what you buy and how much to US Customs. You should probably talk to a Licensed US Customs broker before you go who has experience bringing in goods from Asia. Long Beach or San Francisco would be the place to look for the broker since it will most likely arrive at one of those ports…
